BOW, HASKELL posted by Jim Markle on Thursday, December 5, 1996

I am pursuing antecedants of Edmund BOW and Elizabeth HASKELL. The Haskell antecedants are reasonably well known, and I have Elizabeth's siblings, though lacking most marriages for them. I have all of Edmund and Elizabeth's children and most spouses. I presume (possibly in error) all children were married in Michigan as Stephen the eldest would only have been seventeen when they migrated. Family tradition states that Edmund was the second husband of Elizabeth HASKELL. She was first married to his brother who was killed in the War of 1812. Edmund served in the War also, He enlisted 1 Jan 1813 serving to 13 Dec 1813 as private under Captains Oliver Herrick and Elijah Hall and Colonel Denny McCobb, Elizabeth drew a pension. Edmund and Elizabeth were said to have had a saw mill in the small town of Levant, Maine, Near Bangor. He Served as Justice of the Peace in Kirtland, Penobscott County, Maine from 1832-35. They moved to Michigan after 1832, He is said to have operated the first gristmill in Saginaw County, and had a Hotel in Saginaw City 7 years. In the old bible, there is recorded the death of Arthur BOW in Mar 1826, no birth of Arthur is given among their children. Could Arthur have been Edmund's father?
